Information You Submit
Search Entries
A name, county, or location entered into an outside search tool is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Greenup County Recent Arrests does not store or log those query terms on its own systems. The provider's policy controls its handling of the submission.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, we retain the information needed to read and answer it. Message information is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may record technical information when a page loads, including:
- Your internet protocol address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools help measure how visitors use the site. You may block cookies through browser settings, though some functions may then work differently.
How Information Is Used
- Operate the site and maintain reasonable performance.
- Send a submitted query to the selected search partner.
- Understand which pages visitors find useful.
- Detect and correct technical problems.
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Links and Outside Services
Links may lead to the Greenup County jailer and sheriff, Kentucky courts and corrections, custody systems, government portals, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy terms govern. Review them before providing information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and tailor ads. That tracking occurs through their technology, not a Greenup County government system.
When Data May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Search partners that process a query you submit.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law-enforcement or government authorities acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information under our control. No website, internet connection, or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, use the Contacts page to request its deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, request a correction, seek deletion, or object to certain processing. Send the request through the Contacts page. Kentucky public records held by agencies are governed separately, including by the Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.872.
